Sharing my love of phonics and the letter Cc

The video shown below called the "C Sound and Song Show" is a little more than 2 minutes long. It will help students accomplish the following:

1. They will get the opportunity to recall what two sounds the alphabet letter Cc makes.

2. They will hear the two Cc sounds made.

3. They will make both Cc sounds along with the speaker on the video.

4. Then, to the tune of "Little Drummer Boy," they will sing the Cc song that helps reinforce the /k/ and /s/ sounds.

5. They will also see that the /k/ sound is found at the beginning of the word can and the /s/ sound is found at the beginning of the word cent. This will help kindergarten and first grade students begin listening for the /k/ and /s/ sounds at the beginning of words as well as at the end of words.

Please note: This video about the letter Cc is also appropriate for Pre-K students.

It is pronounced /k/ as in can.

It is also pronounced /s/ as in cent.

"How to make the letter "C" sounds complete with fun song for gradesK-1".

The Hub is informative by content, useful by experience and "up" by standard.

The alphabet "C" giving the sound of "K" while appearing in the beginning of the word "Can" and the same alphabet giving the sound "s" while appearing in the beginning of the word "cent".

Cab,cap, cat, catch, call, care,camera,can, case,.....Sound "K"

cent, cell, cement, cereal, ceremony, cerebral,Ceaser,...Sound "S".

The question is Why?

May God bless all and increase in knowledge which is useful.

Thank you so much for a great list of words that begin with the hard and soft sounds of c. That will be very useful for my readers.

As for your question of why, I'm not certain what you are questioning. Are you questioning why the English language has been formulated as it is? Are you questioning why I love phonics so much?

In any case, thank you so much for commenting and visiting.

Best wishes to you,

Debbie aka DJ Lyons
