How to make your hair grow faster and thicker
Are you suffering from thinning hair? Have you had a disease or condition that contributed to all of your hair falling out? Or have you gone through the type of chemo that made you start shedding hair?
Finally, the day comes when you notice that your hair is starting to come back in. At first, you rejoice until you see that it is growing in way too slowly to suit you.
In my case, I lost all my hair due to having four sessions of the type of chemotherapy known as the Red Devil. (Please note that it has that name as it typically causes your urine to be either red or orange in color depending on how hydrated you are. If you drink very little, your urine usually is bright red in color. If you drink a lot, your urine will probably be some shade of orange. Since I am a drink guzzler rather than a drink sipper, my urine never did turn red.)
I felt very impatient to have my hair grow in fast so that I no longer had to wear a hat, scarf, or wig. I used all of these tips in conjunction with each other. I now have a very thick head of hair.
Here are four useful tips that can help your hair to grow in faster and thicker. For best results, try all four tips at once.

At beauty supply stores, such as Sally's Beauty Supply, you can purchase one of two shampoo kits made by Nutri-Ox. They have one kit that is most appropriate for color-treated hair. The other kit is most appropriate for hair that is your natural color.
The kit contains three bottles:
Bottle number 1: Naturelle Nutri-Ox System for Thinning and Fine Hair Shampoo
Bottle number 2: Naturelle Nutri-Ox System for Thinning and Fine Hair Conditioner

As for me, since I was going from completely bald to getting new hair growth, I bought the set for hair that is your natural color. Chemotherapy can do very strange things to hair growth. It can change your hair texture and hair density. You might have had straight hair all your life only to develop what is known as the chemo curl. Or it can grow back in with strange colors. One woman had black hair on the back and white hair on top. One woman totally turned into a red-head. My hair grew back in salt and pepper colored - more salt than pepper. I was certainly not ready to go gray, so I fully intended to color my hair. When I questioned whether I was going to need to buy the new kit for color-treated hair, they said I could continue using the other kit. I just needed to be aware that it might bleed some of the new color from my hair a little faster.
The kit said that typically you will see results in only thirty days. That seemed to be the case with me. It lasted me more than two months. Now that my hair has successfully grown in thick, I don't feel the need to buy a second kit.

I learned about this tip from my hair dresser. Take a daily vitamin called Biotin. It will help your hair grow in faster and thicker.
The bottle states: Super Potency Biotin 5000 mcg. Skin/Hair/Nail Support. A serving size is to take one Biotin capsule daily. On the back, the following description is given: "Biotin helps promote the health of skin, hair and nails by nourishing cells throughout the body, especially in hair follicles, nail beds and the outer layers of skin. Biotin is a water-soluble B Vitamin that assists protein and fat metabolism for energy use."
You can purchase this at any place they sell vitamins. I purchase mine at Wal-Mart as they usually sell them for a very economical price. I am currently on my second bottle. I intend to keep on taking Biotin for the rest of my life.

I learned about this at a Health Specialty store called Health Barn in Greeneville, TN.
Rubbing Rosemary Oil into your scalp on a regular basis can help promote faster and thicker hair growth. It has a lovely smell as well.
I've been using this for a couple of months. Now that my hair has grown in quite thick, I only use it periodically. Originally, I used it almost every day.

Taking Vitamin B12 on a regular basis can help promote hair re-growth. Daily, I take Vitamin B that contains Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. It also contains Folate, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, and Calcium.
The back of the bottle gives this description: "B vitamins are interdependent upon each other to achieve a wide variety of matabolic functions by physical stress."

Hey, these tips are good. I would also like to share my personal experience of facing hair fall and then curing it. Debbie, i like this hub, I am a hair dresser and i will have to say everything you have posted in this is very acurate. i would like to ad that if you can not find the shampoo you were recomending that i recomend to my clients a system called Nyoxin. You can purchase it in most salons. Walmart salon carries it. They Usually Have what we like to call a duo pack. Which will come with your Cleanser and Scalp Therapy. And Some will Come with an added Scalp Treatment. Acording to which one you purchase.

I peronally use the Nioxon myself.., it helps with Hair loss and breakage. It also comes in a color treated formula. It is a little bit more expencive than the one you sugested . But it is a good alternative treatment. becouse our hair will build up a tolerance after long periods of use and sometimes things will not work as well after we have used them for a while... But i do plan to add your sugestions to my own daily routine. i to have thinning hair problems . So when i find a suggestion that has been proven to work. I will try it on my self and then will suggest it to my family, Friends and Clients that have the same problems...

DJ, How long did it take for your hair to start growing back? To get 1 inch? I'm currently 4 weeks post chemo and don't see anything!!

Hi from Debbie aka DJ Lyons. Every person reacts differently to chemo. I finished my last chemo session on July 1, 2010. In mid-October of that same year, I finally was able to leave off wearing the scarf and gave back the wig. At that point, it was over an inch long. As of September 2011, I have hair that is full, thick, and lush. It is softer in texture than it ever was. I already had curly hair, but it is curlier now. It's called the chemo curl that even people with normally straight hair often get. It is to the top of my shoulder blades in length.
I had two kinds of chemo. The first 4 sessions was the Red Devil chemo. That is the chemo that made my hair fall out. During my final 4 sessions of chemo, while I was getting a milder dose of chemo, my hair began growing back in. So it could be a factor, for you, of what kind of chemo you had and where it was aimed. Also, it could be a factor of are you getting radiation and where is that aimed?
In any case, I have said a prayer for you. Be patient. I am sure it will happen for you as well. Are you trying the suggestions I included above? Especially the Biotin suggestion?

hi, thanks...i plan to follow ur tips... i have q: can i color my hair(to cover grey) while using nutri ox??
I colored my hair and it all worked out fine. They do sell a brand of Nutri Ox that you can buy specifically with that in mind. I had no problem with either.
I am using the nutri-ox treatment plan and see results. I'd like to add the other tips you suggested, but wonder about the rosemary oil. Did you apply that before or after the 3B treatment? Was it done at a completely different time of day? I'm hesitant to have the oil negate the 3B application. Thanks!
